PTACT Fee $75.00 for 3 years (New Membership and/or Renewal). Please remember that with this new program, you must keep your PTA membership dues current in order to qualify for renewal at the end of your 3 year period.

In order to become a PTA Certified Taxidermist & receive your PTACT certification you must:

Have a valid PA Taxidermy License

Have a valid Commonwealth of PA – Dept. of Revenue – Sales Tax ID # (Proof Required)

Proof of Business Insurance (Copy of Policy Declarations page)

Be a PTA member in good standing. (MUST remain as such for entire length of certification)

Attend 3 seminars at any of the PTA State Conventions held within a 3 year period & obtain the presenters signature as proof of attendance. (This doesn’t mean you must attend all 3 shows – only 1 is necessary to meet this requirement.)

Accumulate 9 credits for a new certification & 9 credits for a renewal certification.

You must do one of the following: Enter a taxidermy piece in the PA State Show professional division or higher earning at least a 3rd place ribbon ~ OR ~ Have your taxidermy piece judged for a pass or fail examination by our appointed board.

Credits:

_____ Taxidermy Trade Magazine Subscription (1 credit per year per subscription – proof required)

_____ Seminar Videos (1 credit per video – proof required)

_____ Attend One-on-One class, taxidermy workshop, or business course (3 credits each)

(Must be from a well established Business, School, or Instructor – signature or proof required)

_____ Attend seminars at any World, National, Regional, State, or PA mini-show (3 credits each – signature required)

_____ Author of published articles in taxidermy trade magazines or PTA newsletter (3 credits each – proof required)

_____ Graduate of any established taxidermy school – ONE TIME USE (3 credits – proof required)

_____ Judge any State, Regional, National, or World Show (3 credits each – proof required)

_____ Teach a seminar, workshop, or one-on-one class (3 credits each – proof required)

_____ Serve on a taxidermy association board or committee (3 credits per year – proof required)

_____ Have your judge critique your piece (3 credits per mount – signature required)
